Gotta 'clonk'when braking....

Hello darlings!!
At a rather awkward time when I really need the van (it is primary wheels now) to get from where I am living to the surgery every day for essential injections that are actually keeping me alive at present.... the van has developed a slight 'clonk' beneath the driver's side floor whenever I brake, even gently.
I can't physically get under it to have a look at this time due to having just suffered yet another DVT.
The van is OK in every other respect.... suspension seems fine.... braking is even and smooth.... I am an extremely cautious and slow driver... much to other road users chagrin (great word!)..... but I am wondering whether, by ignoring this for the time being, I am driving myself into a potentially dangerous situation, or am I just getting paranoid?
Whatdya think guys?? Should I park it up until I can investigate... which would be very inconvenient at this time, or ignore it until something falls off?
If I get the van to Apps Court, is anyone going who could check it out for me?
(I am not driving more than a mile a day, and all within a 30mph limit. It is going to be a few weeks before I will be fit enough to do any physical work on it myself.)
