Many thanks to Clive & Jenny once again for their efforts,especially this morning for fixing the oil leak on the 5 pot.
Had a great time seeing everyone again,it was a good mix of lanes and sightseeing, a really good weekend.

Yes, thinks there'll be lots of photos, but can't upload from at campsite due to gongling bandwidth limits, will be back by Thursday though others have their pictures!

Roger, we drove the lane at Fingle bridge tonight after visiting Drogo Castle (NT) fab gardens there BTW. Nice twisty climb through woods, pub at bottom shut non Mondays
Thanks for the suggestion, unfort in August couldn't see the amazing views through the foliage - maybe a winter drive would give a better vistas, but a fine scramble up nevertheless!

Many thanks to Simon (SyncroSimon) for calling in last Wednesday at Postwood Gardens and showing us a lot more Devon lanes... and loaning us his (valuable) marked up OS maps. This made planning the main Saturday routes a whole lot easier

We hope everyone enjoyed the resulting eclectic mix of open lanes, deep lanes, fluffy lanes, touring & sightseeing routes up thyrough Exmoor to the north coast and back as enjoyable as we did...

All of us had a great few days.
The 'fluffy bits' made us chuckle.
I tried recording from my phone via the window
Charge mount, and the sound of brushing
was realy loud.
Will have to see how good the vidio quality is.

got home safe and sound on sunday, although the doka was a bit more laden after we saw a motorbike crash on the a303 on the way back, we were static as the 2 lanes go in to 1 (lots of traffic) a triumph tr6c was filtering past us at about 10-15mph, as i said to sally look thats the same as my bike, a crazy belgum decided that they were going to swap drivers, and you can guess what happend next, the bike did not even have a chance to to hit the breaks, went straight in the the opening door and folded door and went flying, i jumped out killed the bike shut off the fuel and pushed the slightly bent bike on the verge while some one else called the ambulence and police. the owner of the bike lives in bromley not far from me, so once he was sorted we loaded on to the back of the doka for him and i will deliver it to him at the weekend as i am working in kent. will post up a pic later.

thanks to every one we had a grate weekend realy enjoyed the whole weekend, mole vally alwasy draws us in to spend money

how on earth did you get that thing on the back of your Doka Neil? fair play

this was the only picture that i took, the time sort of took over making sure that the rider and bike were ok, 2 police men helped me lift the bike on to the back of the doka, they were quite happy for me to take the bike as it would be another thing that they would have to do, if i did not take it. i will take another pic over the weekend as i will be droping it off to the owner over the weekend.

ohh and if you intrested it is a 1968 tr6c i have a 1969 tr6c. google them they make for some intresting reading, the king of cool rode them he did the isdt on a factory tr6c after shoting the grate escape with bud edcins (it was edkins who did the jump in the film)

I have had a few new Jap bikes, R6, CBR600RR etc. But nothing made me feel as cool as when I rode my Dads '70 Daytona 500. Very comfy, relaxing ride and sounded lovely.

bang on there pete, hi lift cam on the inlet side (from memory) gave them a better pulling from bottom end, as they were made for the west coast desert racing, and never having to balance the carbs made them easyer to live with. i have grown up with the tr6c my bike as my dad bought in new in 1970 as the local bike shop ordered a bonnie and it turned up instead and they did not know what to do with it so they put it in the shop window he fell in love with it and bought it. i bought it of him about 10 years ago. with the high levle pipes and the wide bars i think they are the best looking bike triumph ever made apart from the t120tt

the rider dave is ok off work for a couple of weeks as his foot is fooked, but no broken bones, he will be happyer once he get his bike back!

us bike were for fun the home market were always practicle.
twin leading shoe on the front very power full, and QD rear hub on the back,
single mk1concentric carb. no need for a choke jus tickle it big kick and your away.
took sally on our fist date out on the bike and look where i am now,

Been wondering what an occasional sharrp clunk underneath was , had a look once, spent more time today out near crediton after a partic. sharp clack.
Finally spotted it, a broken arb drop-link... seems to handle real nice on th e twisty bits, so will be removing whole bar and seeing if I still think it has that certain je ne sais quoi when pushing on.

Meriden - another sorry British tale. Been to the Norton factory too, got the t-shirt, when they were building (& racing) the wankels (quite succesfully)
