Yep, Roger Ball

He's based in Clacton and does a fast mail order service (as long as he's not swamped. Keen VW man. Best to call him early evening. You do the regasket. Roger runs the shaft on a lathe and sets it true and consistent diameter then fits phosphor bronze bushes instead of the stock plastic ones. Comes back better than new. Same goes for twin carb 2.0 and beetle carbs - does them all. Eliminates air leaks through throttle flap which causes poor or inconsistent idling and generally poor performance.

He'll also do similar work on worn parts elsewhere that are no longer available or make custom parts. I've not discussed the possibility of reworking rear wheel bearing housings to take oversized bearings but thats the sort of thing Roger can do. Well known in the club our Roger. Likewise in bay clubs. Always worth asking him first as he has a string of contacts in engineering world. He can do batch work on small runs too - useful if you want a load done. Respected blues player too :D
