Mid - Scotland/Northern England recommendations please

Hi all - well we are setting off to Scotland this Saturday, with a 2 day stop-off at Bamburgh on the way up. Can anyone give recommendations in the following areas:

1. Fife - we need to be within striking distance of RAF Leuchars where we will be visiting step-son, his girlfriend and new baby. We will be there a few days so a site with good shower facilities is needed.

2. Mid-Scotland, west of Cairngorms - we hope to stay at Ardgualich Farm on Loch Tummel for a 2-3 days, unless anyway knows of something even better.

3. Westwards towards Nevis area - we would like to move west from Loch Tummel towards the West Coast and would love to know any little gems we could stop at - maybe even good sleepy spots  Not really any preferences in this area as we have never explored it before so know little about it.

4. We will then wind our way back southwards - we know of one sleepy spot we want to check out in the Eden Valley, Y. Dales but any info. for Cumbria and Dales area greatly appreciated.

Thank you - Donna

Hiya Donna, Cant help with any in the Fife area but there's a cracking site a couple of miles north of Pitlochry called Blair castle caravan site, i would highly recommend it. And if your heading up nevis way there's a great site right at the foot of Ben Nevis called Glen Nevis camp site i would also recommend this one too. Enjoy your trip :ok

Thanks folks - narrowing things down now. I have booked a couple of nights near Bamburgh and found a site in Fife near to RAF Leuchars. After that we shall see what the area and weather offers!! We may well take up your suggestion of Blair Castle and we fancied the Nevis area too - so lots to go on there.
