hi guys i am looking for some help, I have recently brought a 1980 t25 with a 2.0cu engine, I am having some carb issues, i have had them set up and balanced but the technision told me that they are warn and could do with either re furbing or replacing... I have ignored him and just kept driving the bus, it chokes up occasionaly blows a bit of black smoke and back fires on the over-run every now and agin but appart from that it runs fine!! I am planning a long journey in our new toy next year for our honeymoon, maybe up to 1500 miles i was just wondering is it worth having the carbs replaced will it save me a fortune in fuel or should i just go with it I am currently getting about 80 miles to £30 worth of fuel i cant decide weather to spend the money or just go with it cause he runs loveley and im a bit worried about having it messed with and making it worse???
also can anyone recomend someone for the job as i got stitched up with my last beetle by a supposed air cooled specialist who was a nightmare and made everything a whole lot worse !!

can someone please give me some advice please

thanks very much

garry! :ok

Hi Garry.

Steve at Gasure is your man for carb rebuilds. He did the ones on my Aircooled tool eater and it ran absolutely beautifully. Well worth the price.

The CU engine's not great on fuel to be honest but should be a bit better than what you're getting.
