on the back of the alternator theres a 3 pin connector. Can anyone put a name on it for me asap. I'm away from home and need the info to ask halfords or someone. It's preventing my battery from charging. Well i say it, but mean loose wires coming out of it into the battery. One wont stay in coz the bendy keep in place bit snapped. Cheers

There isnt really a technical name for this part as it is specific to that vehicle/alternator combination but if it's the plug I think it is, then you can snip the cables, bare the ends and replace them with crimp type spade connectors. Just make sure the wires go back on where they came off and disconnect the battery first!

you're right Mark. If there was a name i would have learnt it by now. I'd done what you suggested and all is fine. However i don't think the battery is getting as much charge as it should. I have a solar tricke charger and the indicating light is amber instead of green. MMmm time will tell.

From what you describe, leisure batteries have a finite life, usually it's 5 years
If the batt is dropping below 12.6 v overnight after a charge up from the mains. ..It's shagged.
