Hi,
We have changed our plans this year from our usual French trip to go to Germany - in particular the Black Forest area. (Mainly inspired by the twin sliders so thanks girls

).
Has anyone got any tips on what we must see? Any places we should stay that are recommended?
So far, we havent got any plans except the ferry is booked in the 11th September...
Cheers,
Ringo

That's a big old area you're talking about, most of it is very nice.
I couldn't give you any specific recommendations but the majority of the campsites are well run.
If you do get over that way don't forget to take a look at Selestat and Strasbourg which are well worth visiting.
The Humanist Library if Selestat is fantastic if you want a bit of culture.

We stayed here ...
http://www.camping-belchenblick.de/html/welcom.html Not cheap but a lovely site and in with the price is free use of the town's outdoor pool which is next to the site and free train travel to either Basel or Freiburg.
Have a Ganter for me

Did you buy the camping book we suggested as most of the sites we stayed on where in there?
http://www.alanrogers.com/guides/europe" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
i found it cheaper on ebay though.
Its a lovely area and im sure you wont be disapointed, so many things to see on route to places and loads of scenery where you can park up and have dinner etc cable car rides aswell if ya fancy it x
We will defiantley be going back next year as there is just so much to see out there its huge.
Have a blast guys i hope you love it as much as we did xx

Yes - bought it thanks Katie - just hasnt turned up yet!
Im trying to get a plan together, but i dont really want to book any campsites because i like to stay flexible.
Where did you guys stay on the way down? Im thinking of somewhere in Belgium or Luxembourg...

We stayed in Luxembourg on the way home, it was a lovely site right near the city with the bus stop just down the road it was a 10 minute ride into town, its in the book too

We camped at Bad Liebenzell, in a beautiful valley with trees either side, pool in the bottom and a castle overlooking it.
Think it was Keycamps/Eurocamp run but the location was ideal for a run to Stuttgart (Mercedes & Porsche Museums) .

The aire in Metz is great and the old town's worth a day on it's own.
Bernie & Carolyn and the Revs stopped on the Camping Municipale there last year IIRC ?
