Don't you just hate it when you start to hear clunking?!

I wonder if I could have some assistance from you lovely people. Haven't had the van very long, and have never done anything mechanical (I'm a girl) However, after the clunking noise I climbed under the van and have found this.

Snapped anti roll bar linkage? Is this the part I need and does anyone know how easy a job it is? Would rather just have to buy the part than paying another £robbingbastards for the garage to do the labour? I'm a girl but I don't mind getting dirty!

Would really appreciate some help here, even if it's just to say "yep that's the part you need" *bit scared*

Thanks in advance x

Yes, that's the part you need :D , the anti roll bar link.

Make sure you get the right one, there are two; cranked like yours, and the straight sort. This is a link to the right sort: http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/shop?page=s ... gory_id=49

Fitting is a bit awkward rather than difficult. Check the rubbers are in good order and not perished, and check the sleeve that passes through the lower suspension arm is OK too, (the snapped off bit passes through it and its rubbers), as the sleeve is often corroded away to sod all/rusted solid to the broken part of the link/can get damaged as you remove the broken part of the link.

yup thats the bit you need, the toughest bit if the job is getting the new one over the end of the anti roll bar. i took the whole lot out, the bar and both ends then fitted it all back together using poly bushes where i could, also poly bushed the steeing rack. made a big difference to the drive of the bus. good luck :ok

Will let you know how I can along, if my knuckles are not too grazed. Am I likely to break a nail?

Check the link from a posting from way back, instructions how to do, the way that worked for me, still ok to date, if you are worried about grazed knuckles, get some gloves like these http://www.screwfix.com/p/general-handl ... oves/74540" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or similar from any market stall.

Here is the link to the info

I am sure if you flutter your eyelashes one of the S. Wales members would be able to stand by with a nail repair kit! :run

Ah, how sweet of you :)

I have enlisted a stronger pair of hands. Don't think 7.5 stone of me is really going to opening nuts and bolts that have been closed for 27 years  If I get stuck, I shall return!

Thanks everyone x
