Engine intermittantly not starting

Can any one help ? I have an unusual engine combination apparently in my Auto Sleeper Trident, it has caused quite a few headaches for garages I have tried. Having just had a service ready for a trip to France on the 20th of this month, two days later it stopped. The engine was turning but would not start, having left it for a while I tried again - nothing. A garage came out to tow it to the garage, at the time there seemed to be nothing wrong with it until it stopped for the mechanic also, there seemed to be no spark from the coil. Two days later it is still at the garage and running ok, the mechanic is reluctant to let me have it back because the fault is intermittant and he doesn't want it to cause me problems for my France trip. The ECU unit was replaced with a reconditioned unit about 12 months ago. If any one has any ideas it would be great as I am not mechanically minded at all. Many thanks

when you say nowt do you mean nowt on the key ? ie you turn it and nowt happens? if so then its more than likely to be the white part of the ignition barrel (about 4 quid)...

I personally can't offer much help other than sympathy and empathy I'm afraid. I have a similar problem with mine at the moment.
You can read my sorry tale and what I've tried so far here:

Please let me know if you get it fixed, it may just help me.
Mike.

Many thanks for the replies, I have copied the information from mikeB and will show my garage tomorrow to see if it helps him out in any way, I think its going to be a long drawn out affair leading up to my trip to France!!

Collecting my camper tomorrow from the garage, it still hasn't had the same problem of not starting whilst at the garage not even after it has been used as a run about or left ticking over for two hours. They are going to fit a new coil tomorrow as a precautionary step as I don't want any problems whilst I am away, will keep you posted, many thanks for the support offered etc, cheers Simon
