Rocker cover gasket

Will i have to drain the oil befor i can change the rocker cover gasket?

No.
I'd wait a bit after running the engine just to let the oil drain back to the sump.

If you're quick just roll the covers under as you take them off and catch any oil left in the rocker box. :wink:

What is best to use to seal the gaskey? I've heard people mention just using greese?

Yes, grease is good for these soft (ie cork) gaskets. Makes them reusable too which wont be the case if you use sealant.
These are not under any real pressure so not stressed.

No sealant is necessary .... A new gasket will seal without sealant.... If it leaks the spring bar is weak
