Just bought another one

With the insurance still messing around over paying out for the orange bus I have been looking to buy something desperately. I feel metaphorically naked without a van and we have missed out on so many outings and shows (plus seeing friends etc) that it's been a horrid season for us.

Well after much Ebay watching I have found a replacement.

1990, RHD, 2.1 petrol Syncro hightop. Looks like it has working difflock(s?) and a homemade interior but from the description it seems in pretty good shape (time and inspection will tell).

Perhaps it belongs to someone on here? It was not listed with Syncro in the title so wouldn't have shown up when you use the term. I think I *may* have bagged another bargain bus :)

I'm going into this Syncro minded so I will be budgeting for drivetrain refurb/replacements as I did with the last van. This time, however I will be making it more secure and it will be parked on off-road parking.

More info and pics when I have it in my possession

Chaps, drop me a wishlist and a price guide and I will try and help.

It's all down to how and where you search.

You can't go wrong for that kind of money, well done. Freelander or Disco2 alloys :? That's a new one!

Just read the extra info on the listing "Unfortunantly the rev counter and fuel guage is on the blink, the mechanic says its the circuit board on the back of the guage thats dodgy, cheep as chips from a scrapy or specialist braker"
:rofl good old £bay...

AFAIK the wheels are Freelander, horrid things - I'm guessing on 5x112 to 5x114.3 adapters (interesting!)

The fuel gauge was a pain but what can you ask for at that price. My last van had the same issues oddly enough.

A quick google shows up conflicting opinions for the Freelander stud pattern...either 5 x 114 (unique to this vehicle)or 5 x 114.3 (aka 4.5") with an ET of around 35

You might just want to check for bent wheel studs before driving anywhere...

Looks like a good buy :ok I bought mine from e bay not advertised as a syncro.

One owner, fsh,un molested,no rust rhd mv panel van 92. £2.400.

Have spent £1.000 ish on it mainly on Mr baxter's stainless exhaust system :D Am well pleased,it does what it say's on the tin --- and then some!!

Good luck and don't forget the tracker!!
