How do all!

Once again a simplish job turns into a ruddy palaver
Today I finally got round to changing my push rod tube seals and when reassembling the rocker assembly, I've managed to de-thread the threaded rods that hold the rocker arms on. Really didnt feel like I was cross-threading them, no hard turns, it was all really smooth, which is a bit bizarre, but they are definitely threaded

Any tips for getting the spinning nuts off, and if i manage that, can i get these rods out to replace them, and if so, how?

you haven't ried putting new m8 nuts on have you ? they are m7
if they are stripped you should be able to get them off by getting some thrust under the nut (eg drift an old chisel in to the gap and pry) and turning nut, or if totally fubarred and that won't work use angle grinder to cut them off
classicparts or heritage for replacements

Sometimes a pair of pincers will work - same principle as Aidan's above method - but gives leverage both sides so that it will come up square.

I didn't use m8 bolts, i just reused the ones i removed as they appeared to be in good condition, i am really not sure how i managed the thread them, but nevermind. I shall give those methods a whirl tomorrow and hopefully get the beggers off!
