Hi are there any technical peeps/vw garages/specialists in north wales we can take our van to we having major probs its running on 3 cylinders not sure why paul has been round it and cleaned out all filters (even the little silly thing) and replaced some and done a bit of tweaking. we are off to Leeds this next weekend and looking like we are going to have to drive it on 3 cylinders there and back if we cant get this fixed whatever it is.
we took it for an mot and came back like this so not sure what has hapned to be honest.
Paul has done lots of looking on here and searching for similar problems and tried out some of the suggestions but still terribly under powered sounds rough as a bag of spanners and defenatly not a happy bunny. do we need a new engine ? i hope not as not got the cash
Help please

not that i am aware of
it went in for mot and then it needed break pipes doing so we left it in the guarage to sort out and when we collected it after it having the pipes done and given a ticket it was not running right. we had to just pack it a and ge to camperjam it limped all the way there and back we thought we could sort it when we got back but not looking like it at the moment

Sounds like an ignition fault ... there is info in the wiki at the top of the page and photos showing the correct order for the plug leads. It could also be a fuel related issue ... when was the fuel filter (near the petrol tank) last changed ?
Ian.

that one we changed last week also the skinni littlle metal one was changed but no different i will point paul in the direction of the wiki thing . we changed all the leads and distributer bits earlyer in the year. when warmed up it sounds ok ticking over but soon as you accelerate it sounds rough and has no power

Gasure
http://www.gasure.co.uk/about.htm but it's VERY short notice and running on 3 will likely do permanent (and expensive) damage.

Fouled plug that was at least a hundred years old (not literally) and a mucky carb.
