Just these last few days my temp gauge has failed to reach halfway and drops down again as soon as I am rolling, it always used to go to halfway quickly and stay there with both engines, no idea why as nothing has been changed?

could it be a dodgy sensor connection maybe ? i had this once and i cleaned up all the sensors in the engine bay cause i awsnt sure which one was which and it seamed to sort it

thermostat stuck open ?
once you get on the move the cool air on the rad will drop the temp again.the thermostat is at the very bottom of the engine and any moving crud in the system can get stuck in the disc.id try that after cleaning up your connections(its one of them on the back of the head
