Help please, Clutch steel/flexi union

Hi, a bit of wisdom required please.
Halfway through replacing the clutch slave cylinder, with significant assistance from the info on here :)
Early style, so metal hose from slave (which is rusted to hell), flexi to chassis & union onto forward steel pipe. Got the old cylinder off, new one fitted, along with a very spangly new Brickwerks braided hose which (if I've understood correctly, replaces the flexi and the rusted metal pipe, and goes straight onto the main pipe under the chassis).
Have got stuck at the connection onto the forward steel pipe. I'm trying to work out which bit I unscrew from which bit! Hopefully the picture below should help. I'm guessing A is something to do with clipping to the bracket, so not important.
Am I right in thinking that C is the union on the steel pipe, and is the bit I want to hold still, and that B should unscrew from it, revealing a male thread on C that the Brickwerks pipe screws onto?

Image

Whether I actually get them to unscrew is a different matter,as the spanner 'flats' aren't very flat, but want to ensure I'm attacking the right bits first.

Thanks in advance,

Rob & Sandy

Rob the end of the new hose spins doesn't it, therefore the forward fixed pipe is fixed (or should be in the bracket) and the old end of the old intermediate pipe undoes

That does help, thanks. I recall reading that but couldn't find it again.
Right, that's tonight's job!

Done!
I used a file to recreate some flat 'flats' on the fixed union, then the angle grinder in the jaws of a 6mm spanner till I got a nice tight fit. That on its own wouldn't get it undone, so the angle grinder came out again and I ground through the female union till the tips of the threads appeared. That loosened its grip and it then came undone.

I had to use the grinder to remove the old flexi & steel pipe from the bracket on the gearbox, then ran the braided pipe though it with some old rubber hose as a grommet.

All working nicely now, so that job off the list. Now onto the next job, front wheel bearings!!
