Identifying which tank type you have

Hi,
I have a crossover year 1985 van and need to identify which type of fuel tank I have. Is there any way of working it out with it still in situ? Any identifying marks other than the difficult to see main filler hole?
Thanks,
jon

Is that the long/main filler pipe that comes down from the cap?

thats the one. early metal ones are much bigger than the later plastic filler necks so the inlet hole into the tank is suitable large or small :ok

so just to check before ordering. If I have a plastic filler tube running from the filler cap to the tank, mine is the later, 48mm filler hole type.
thanks
Jon

yes, if you have plastic filler you need the late tank.
they are the same apart from the filler hole.

that's the problem, I have nowhere to drop the tank and check , only a small window on the ramp to do the change when I am ready.

Aidan has already told you where to get the tank from. It really IS that simple.
