http://s1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa4 ... jpg...Just" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; thought some of you might be interested in seeing how far I've got with Doris, particularly as I've driven some of you bonkers asking advice and getting help with parts. As yet the pics aren't order so you aren't travelling backwards and forewards in time. Thanks to those who've helped get this far. :ok

Bloodyhellfire Sid, I'd forgotten your before and after diary. You've always got to top me, is it some inter-service rivalry? :rofl

I take it everyone on this thread is Forces. Add me to the list.

Oh and I like your wheels. Did you have to do any modifications to get them to fit?

Thanks for the kind words mate and no we're not all Toms on this thread. Sid and Armyphil and myself are though. Regarding the wheels I had to have the holes for the wheel studs opened up and also have the wheelnut seats milled to take the VW nuts and on the rear extended wheelstuds had to be fitted. Rob :ok P.s this process is plentifully covered in the Wiki.

I'm not sure wether I've spannered the first coat of paint that I've applied or not. I've used 400 wet and dry and taken off the paint in some places even though I've been gentle. Any reassurance out there...can I get a hug? :(

It's looking good! A huge improvement on when I saw it last!

I would have thought that 400 is a bit course to be flating back with. But I've not read Covkids thread.

I would have thought 800 would be more suitable. Taking care on swage lines. I think the second coat of paint will fix where you have gone through.

Wahooo! I've dodged the bullet early this morning I rubbed the first coat down again with 600 grit and she looked lots better for it [Bloody ijit] . Put the second coat on this afternoon and apart from the worlds supply of black bugs she's looking really nice. Why are there no clear bugs? Also managed to give the bumpers and planks a second coat of white too. Will post some more pics when I can get them off of the phone. :ok

Just flatted back the roof and applied a second coat to that and it's starting to come together. I now reckon that I'll be ready for the road late August early September. Are there any meets late September/ October? Rob :ok
