I thought there was a problem with importing vans into USA? Making it almost impossible, or was I having a strange dream again

As the previous-to-Slobbo owner of the van, I hope it goes well for him

25 years and older and the vans are much easier to import into the US now. The boat ride still adds a few thousand to the price.
VR6 isn't a very desirable motor conversion though.

I don't really want to sell. I put the ad up after chap from the US contacted me after looking at my site. I had as a joke said I would accept £20k and he asked if I was serious. It ended up falling through so I thought I would put it up on the Samba at an optimistic price. It is rather unique so you never know. I have had a couple of enquiries but nothing more. One from Canada which is much easier than the US. I believe the earlier Syncros can be imported now something to do with age but not sure of the details
If I sold it for that sort of dosh then I might consider Jean Louie Brions 16" tischer XN syncro. The boys are getting bigger now and will start to smell like only teenage boys can so more space would be welcome.
I am treating it as not for sale and continuing with improvements. Got planned powdercoating the suspension and protection bars, paint freshen up, carbon fibre batteries and maybe a new interior at some point. So you can see how serious I am about selling. If it sells for that great but otherwise I have an amazing vehicle which I love. I can't loose.

If yours sells, I'm listing mine!
I guy came and spoke to me on my drive yesterday, asked if I would sell, I said I'd want £15k. He didn't flinch! Just said ok! Would like to keep it at his property abroad as it's left hand drive. For some reason I bottled and said I wasn't selling? Don't tell me I'm becoming attached to a lump of metal

that's never happened before?

It is interesting how their value varies so much in the US.
From intensive research (had a look on Samba first page) you can get driveable/useable Syncros from $5000 (
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/ ... id=1164818) upto 60,000 dollars. (
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/ ... id=1162662). 12 times cheapest value.
Where as here, they seem to start around £3/4K & peak out around $12/14K. 4 times cheapest price.
I suppose its alot to do with having the amazing country to really use a syncro & hence value it more, maybe?

thing is guys @ £15 - £20k what would get to replace it ???????
we`ve out grown ours really and often camp out with 5 on board + my jack russel. seriously thought of changing to something else. westy exclusive and merc james cook would fit the bill but both look like they`d fall over if the wind got up.
