Hi there, im currently in the process of fitting a mk 3 gti into my Aircooled camper.I today fitted the engine mounts and mounted the engine to realise the engine is about 3 inches away from the bellhousing.
has anybody compleated this conversion? and come across this problem? i assumed it would all fit together without any modification.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Ryan

Yes i have the diesel engine bars. Could it be that i have a non compatible gearbox for this conversion, seing as its a 1979 van? or should they all fit?

Aircooled box engine mount positions the box closer to the front of the van.. you need a different gearbox mount..

accurately measure up and post your gearbox mount dimensions and I'll have a rummage in the garage for any spare mounts I have,,,
