Westy Fridge problems

I have a problem with my 3-way Electrolux fridge.

Normally, when i switch to Gas (with gas on) the red light blinks & clicks ...
then i press and keep the ignition button pressed in until the blinking light
stops (sorry - previous description incorrect!!)

Today ... nothing. No blinking light.

1. Am i right in assuming this is an electrical fault? (Is it a case of a blown fuse / broken wire?)

2. What are the best-case / worst case fix-it scenarios? Will i need to remove the fridge to access and make repairs?

All comments gladly accepted. May thanks, Simon

Once the flame is lit the light and clicking should stop, but the light should be off not on continuously so perhaps it was on the way out.
Check the fuse of the 12v supply to the igniter - this may be via a Zig Unit if you have one or a simple in-line fuse from your battery (this is NOT the 12v supply to the fridge heating element from the relay that supplies the fridge while the engine is running).

If there is no click then you are not getting power from the leisure battery. Either the fuse is broken (or you may a have corroded aluminium fuse problem) or the leisure battery is flat. I had the fuse problem in a small black fuse box in my Westie. This box was fixed low to the side of the front seat. I cleaned the connections put in a copper fuse and away we went. Good luck.

If you tell us what conversion it is someone may be able to tell exactly what fuse it is and exactly where to find it

Also check the gap between the electrode & burner at the rear of the fridge for dirt or it may be too big & the spark wont jump across, the sparking action lights the red light(flashing) & the heat from the flame complets the circuit stopping the sparking. (providing its still not lit!!!)

Ahh a westy. I'd E D I T the title of the thread to 'Westy fridge problems' and you'll hit your target audience. I've got an Autohomes so unfamiliar with the westy set up.

There's a little black box on the door pillar behind drivers seat, contains 2 fuses, one for eberspacher(25a) and I think I'm correct in thinking other one is for fridge??????
