5-speed gear lever guide wedges coming soon

Also known as 251 711 173 C, these are the alloy "pyramids" that are bolted to the bottom of the 5-speed gear lever box under the floor. Often badly worn on the flanks thanks to destroyed lever fork tips, allowing the steel fork to gouge the alloy and spoiling the gearshift even when all else has been replaced.

Thanks to Aidan I have a factory drawing for this part (2 required per vehicle) and tooling has now been ordered on a 2-3 week lead time, so I should have some made in a month or so. I had hoped to get these ready before the holiday season got in full swing, but I'll do my best to make these available asap.

More news as and when.

Drop the spare wheel carrier and remove the wheel. Look up to see the housing which will probably have to be removed for easier access (4 nuts-1 at each corner)
One screw from underneath the housing holds each of the blocks in place.
Providing nothing unforseen happens, 1/2 hour tops?

Tooling has just arrived :D so I should be getting stuck into these in the next week or three.

Just in time for everyone to come back off their summer vacances and realize that they really do need to sort the gearshift
