hi there, i have the above mentioned device, does anyone else have this and what have they found uses for it on their vans? do the belts wear out quickly or are they pretty long lasting? cordialement!

We have similar at work (Makita version). They're useful for many, many things, far too many to list, but essentially anything that needs 'adjusting'.

Control comes with experience, they can do a lot of damage very quickly in inexperienced hands (they will remove a lot of material very quickly).

Belts are fragile and shockingly expensive. If you break a belt it's because you're doing something wrong, think about other ways to approach the job before changing a broken belt.

Be light and gentle, use the middle of the belt rather than the 'point'.

Think about the job before getting the power file out, you can easily do far more harm than good.

thanks for the primer, in this case it's getting rid of rust that's a pain to get rid of with the usual ways. it's those areas that are hard to access.
