What thickness steel

Hi All;
I need to make up body panels - one to fill a 4" square on the offside where that dam fridge has caused condensation and around sonme of the window frames.
what thickness steel do i need and does it have to be e=any special type - galvanised etc?
What Amp and speed should I set the welder at
As you have guessed I am new at this, but need to learn fast to save my baby!!!

1 to 1.2mm is fine for bodywork. As for the welder settings try welding a couple of piece of metal together to see if its got good penetration. Thats the easiest way to get your settings sorted. Im guessing you havent done much welding?

Definately not galvanised....the fumes from welding galvanised metal can poison you (zinc fume fever)
Ordinary steel is called cold-rolled steel as far as I know.
The welder should usually be at the lowest amp setting if you are butt welding it. The gas gauge should be set at about 10 litres per minute Usually takes a bit of experimenting to get the right settings.
