Do calipers and wheel cylinders have to be changed in pairs

Have a sticking front caliper and a nipple snapped flush in the back cylinder.

Thinking of getting a second hand caliper and replacing the cylinder if I don't successfully drill the nipple out.

Is this ok or do they need to be replaced in pairs?

Many thanks

Andrew

^^WHS

Retailers would have you buy them in pairs as they would most likely claim that it's "for safety"

So long as the brake force is equal then no problem.
