Hi, got bumped by the neighbours car the other day and apart from the damaged indicator and bumper cap, the paint has finally flaked off the rusty patch (it's not changed in six years ), i thought i could just cut it out and and weld in a panel, on closer inspection it looks like its rusting where it meets the frame, has anyone done this repair before and if so any advice ? any help much appreciated, cheers

Just give it a good clean up. You wont know whats what until you have.

yep, you can only deal with it once its been opened up, by which point you'll know what has to be done. :D

Normally an etch primer on bare metal, then a normal/high build primer then your top coat. When your done welding try to get in and coat the new repair with paint/seam sealer, or anything you have to hand to stop it rusting from the inside out.
:ok
