Accelerator return spring?

Hello all - I am after some advice please.

I think the accelerator return spring (at least I think this is what it is called :oops: ) appears to have come lose or broken.

I have just replaced the accelerator pedal push rod that fits into the linkage below as this had worn out, but the accelerator does not return back to full hight when I release my foot and naturally the revs remain higher until I physically lift the pedal.

Looking at the spring it appears to be intact, but does not seem to be able to secure to where the throttle valve is so just spins round rather than being fixed in place. The 'arm' of the spring is intact and I can see where this sits on the thottle valve and returns the pedal to upright position.

Is there something broken that you can see from the pictures below, or can I attach it back somehow?

Thanks in advance for your help! :ok

Certainly looks like the spring is broken to me - there isn't anything left to create the tension.
New one needed. :cry:

Thanks oldiebutgoodie.

Looking at picture 3, is that where it is broken and does the bit that must have broken off attach to the upright bit of metal next to the spring? Is the only place I can see that would allow the spring to attach to.

Any ideas who sells them? Could not see on justkampers etc, but then I am not exactly sure what the part is called ...... Accelerator spring?

Thanks again.

Hello,

I think there are commonly actually two springs there - I might be wrong - you'd have to take the arm off to check. if you get the part number of the pump (I presume it's bosch) and find your nearest bosch auto-parts place you might be lucky - you can look for a dealer on the online site here:

http://www.boschautoparts.co.uk/bdl/loc ... or=Product" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also if you look on ebay though for "return spring" you might be able to fabricate something from what's there. I think it's referred to normally as a throttle return spring.
