Went to install this new cab bunk from Bluebird today and the fabric has come up short. Its only just getting beyond the door seam. (the hole in the picture is the seatbelt hole, but id expect the bunk to get to that region to be neat and tidy.)



I know Camperboy69 has had an identical situation, just curious to know if there are any others out there with the new spring pole design which actually fitted first time. Ive also noticed the spring poles are stupidly stiff and difficult to get in. And i thought i was a strong lad, apparently not.

Ive emailed them to request a longer fabic now, fingers crossed this will be a quick process.

Thats weird maybe they sent you a bay or a T4 one or something. Does it go right upto the glass?

I had exactly the same problem. They told me to put it the radiator and stretch it. I managed to get plot too fit but it was bending the poles and spiggots. Even after my boy sleeping in it a few times it hadn't stretched.

I ended up making tabs for the ends of the poles to make it fit.

I bought mine a couple of years ago so I am surprised this hasn't been rectified.

Pretty poor effort from blue bird and I know quite a few people have have the same problem.

I don't think it's been a mistake in the order, as said above, there seems to be too many of these stories going around for it to be a coincidence. I'm not overly impressed with the product o far, but to be fair to bluebird, I've only raised the problem with them today so Let's give them a chance.

assuming all goes well, our three year old will sleep in this hammock for about 60 night this summer so that should be a good product testing.

Well to be fair to Bluebird... they have confirmed my fabric is one inch too short and will be sending out a replacement fabric today.
So thumbs up for the customer service.

Could do with one of these for child number three......worth it or do we stick with the awning ?

Well its a heck of a lot quicker to put up than an awning.
Down side if you are left with two holes in your front A pillar which isnt very pretty. I'd give it the thumbs up.
