As said in topic both the front and rear driver side side lights do not work but both bulbs seem fine. /i have tried new bulbs and no joy.

Is there common wiring between the tow which could be at fault?

the earth for both is in different places, and I assume you've checked the fuses, so my vote would be for a lose wire on the light switch itself, or possibly in the loom behind the fuse box. Do the parking lights work? They get a signal from the indicator stalk I think.
