MOT brake fail 1% off!

Just had a MOT fail on the LT, The front brakes got 65% Deceleration the rear 31% with an average of 49% (needs 50%!!!)
I've bled the sysem and checked the shoes and pads all look almost new along with the front disks. The only thing i can see is that the rear shoes arn't touching in a couple of places (still got that new matt feel).
Apart from a few laps round the village with the hand brake on can you think of anything else to get my 1%?

If that's all it failed on I would take it somewhere else, but that could be difficult if its class 7??

Camper registered to class 4
It failed on a few other easy bits. Hazards not workong (loose fuse). Tail lights (duff earth)
The best one was the 'simple' loose bolt on the rear roll bar... was rusted solid into the bush sleve. Have had to cut the holder to remove it then bash it out. Wasn't going anywhere while on the van
All back on and cut welded shut
Might as well try it on the free retest 1st

Think i've figured out a cheeky answer!
They have the van down as 2672kg. The only way they could get this figure is by weighing it? The logbook say different and he couldn't find the van on the dvla database - he had to start a new file.
A: loose 50kg of junk and the same figures now equal over 50%!
Worth a go i recon!

that could well work....did your tester use the brake rollers?

From memory, the rear brakes have a simple spring/cam brake compensator on the back axle. To improve the rear brakes simply slacken off the nut/bolt and wind it up the cam a bit to allow more rear brake pressure (10 minute job)

As far as i know it's a roller.
As for the rear valve, this is it

Yup, that's the one...find where it is mounted on the rear axle and you will see a slotted radial bracket. The bolt going through the bracket needs slackening and the spring tension needs adjusting to it's maximum.
At the moment your rear brake pressure is being retricted and thus the rear brake efficiency will be lower than it could be.
Once the MOT is passed, re-adjust to original position otherwise you will keeping locking up your rear brakes under moderate braking.
