Help with paint colour

If anyone can help i would be very grateful. My 1991 T25 is in the spray shop and there is no paint code so i'm trying to find out what it could be. Ive looked on the Brickyard site and seen the codes/names but it doesnt seem to be any of them. Its definately a factory colour but quite unusual and rare, its classed as blue on the log book but its more of a blue/grey non metallic colour. Its pretty bland and looks more like a german military blue/grey, i thought "blue slate" but the guy at the spray shop reckons thats bright blue. I know its a long shot but if you have owned a van that sounds like this please let me know what the colour was. trying to upload pic but having no luck.

Thanks in advance for any advice Cheers, Kev

I'm sure you've looked, but I was after the paint code for mine, I found it upside down under the steering wheel above the pedals.

Can't help with visual check sorry!

Thanks for the replies. Ive looked on the Brickyard site for the Kurilian Blue but its not listed after 1984 so probably unlikely for a 1991 van. I'll give the dealer parts dept a try as suggested.
Cheers
Kev

The paint code may be on a silver sticker under the left front seat or it will be on the metal code plate in the same location. The middle row of digits is the paint and trim code should be something like R1R1 AW

After looking on the Brickyard website i found a copy of the T25 brochure for 1988 and the paint colours are on there, i'm guessing the colours probably didnt change after that. The pdf is pretty small but the only colour it can be is medium blue or blue slate, slate blue is how i would have described it. On another page on the Brickyard site are the paint codes/names for specific year blocks but the spray shop has had the slate blue code mixed (H5V) and it came out lighter than sky blue! If anyone has a Blue Slate coloured van with a paint code i would be very grateful for a cross reference.

Don't guess, get the code. It could be Orly blue, Star blue, Dove grey, Vesuvuius grey,

All of them colours are for earlier vans not for 1990. I've included links to the brickyard information pages which are very useful. The brochure should be correct but it doesnt have the code, just the name and sales code.

if a customer wanted a colour he could have any that VW did... It does not matter what year it is.
Those are just production colour runs

I've no reason to doubt you Kev but i'm finding it hard to comprehend that VW let you order any colour from earlier brochures when ordering a new vehicle. Would that have cost more, do they still offer that service?

It's not rocket science, get the code off the plate and it will tell you the colour.
