I've spent weeks trying new ways to get my RM212 to work on gas. Each time I think I've solved it, I cool it on mains and then switch to gas (it lights up fine, nice blue flame) but the fridge does not hold its cool!
I have done the upside down thing, I have made sure it is level, I have cleaned the jet with carb cleaner.
I now do not have it ready for the trip we needed it for - annoying!
Any advice on what I can do next to get it to work on gas?

If it works on electric it should work on gas if you have a flame. How long did you give it on gas?

oh Was the metal tray in the freezer compartment getting cold? Should be really frozen after that much time.

The only other thing I can think of is that the flame isn't in the right place. Have you tried it on 12v when you're driving?

yes, the metal tray got cold but the rest of the fridge did not get down to a temperature anywhere cold enough. I put a container of water in the freezer compartment which never froze - even if I froze it on mains first, it melted when I switched to gas.
Haven't tried it on 12v yet.
The sort of camping I do requires using the fridge on gas mostly so its a real nuisance at the moment.

My fridge was fixed recently (after 5 years of not working on gas!) in less than an hour. I got a Dometic Engineer out - cost me £65 and he came to fix the van in my drive. Worth the cash I reckon. Type "Dometic Engineer" into google if you're interested, then add your post code and the nearest one to you will appear!

I have a 'Dometic Diagnostic Service Manual' (pdf document). I assumed I'd downloaded it off 80-90 but I can't find it on here so I may have aquired it from another site. PM me an email address and I'll send it you; between that and the 80-90 manuals there must be enough information to point you to the problem.

Since it works fine on electric and you've already done the upside down thing, my money's on a misaligned burner flame.

The best way to clean a jet is to thread a single thread of cheap speaker wire through the hole and give it a few spins, this wont hurt the Jet as copper is a lot softer than brass. Also make sure you put the burner on with the holes facing upwards.
9 out of ten times if a fridge doesnt work on gas but does on 240v its due to a blocked jet, forget about compreesed air or any cleaners this is the only guaranteed way IMHO.

have you refitted the twisted metal blade to defuse the heat , its on a long piece of wire and drops down the gas tube?

where bouts in glos are you ?

just serviced my recently bught ,fridge dosent work on gas' and freezes water no problem on all 3 ways!

I thought that bit was necessay for it to work regardless of gas or electric

By gas tube I think they Billy means Flue and this is only used when on gas
