Evolution of my VR6

Well after a recent split water pipe I have been repositioning things in the engine bay. In fact just looked at pictures taken when I first bought the van and the evolution over time.
First picture is the grubby engine when I bought it. The air filter was the original VR6 box with a hole cut in the side. A lot of crap would have been passing the filter without being filtered. The intake pipe was really long and the MAF too far away from the throttle body.

I bought a new stainless steel filter (good for 450bhp) and replaced the original box with that as well as moving the MAF.

I still wasn't happy with it. So stage 3. Moved the air filter into the steel enclosure that housed the euro gas bottle. Does not fit a uk bottle so not much use as a gas cylinder housing. Made up a new intake pipe - badly. It worked well but was ugly.

The Final stage is with a new intake pipe. Steel job with a take off for an oil catch tank. The fuel lines were replaced with steel lines and I have just moved the temperature sensor unit. A mate made up a bracket to mount it. Most of the pipes have been replaced with silicon pipes and everything is just a bit tidier.

It's a bit neater than a 2.1 Petrol isn't it?
