Sooper dooper headlamp bulbs?

Has anyone tried out those new high-efficiency headlamp bulbs, i.e Osram 50% plus, etc?
I only ask 'cos I managed to snap the lug from one of my bulbs when removing the headlamps and wondered if these new fangled bulbs are a worthy replacement? Brickwerks are knocking them out for about twelve quid which isn't too bad compared with Halfords standard efforts.

Doug.

I popped a couple of the Halfords high output ones in when they were on 1/2 price, made a bit of difference, brighter by a bit. Main difference is colour temperature of out put is less yellow, more blue.

Only worth it if the headlamp glass are marked H$ as this is the better lens in the first place.. but also worth doing a wiring and relay mod/upgrade, that makes a massive difference...

Absolutely the best upgrade you can do to your H4 lights without actually modifying anything.

I've had a pair in mine for a year now and I highly recommend them...same wattage but a whiter more intense beam at least 50% brighter than standard..

Thanks Guys.
I've ordered a set via the eBay link..
I had planned to fit the SA twin lamp & grille thingy but my budget's being blown into orbit

on the restoration work so these will be better that what I have for the time being.
