Stiff brake pedal

Setting off home from Bristol volksfest today (good weekend)
Nearly had kittens, van nearly ass ended vehicle in front !!!!
Brake pedal gone really stiff, have to almost stand on brakes to get any sort of response, even then not great.

Last year replaced all discs, hoses, pads etc.... No problems until today.

Could the servo have had it?

Don't know quite where to start before a trip to the garage

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Not all that good at this stuff, but check brake fluid level. if low you could just have a leek. :?

Have you been firkling around in the engine bay at all this weekend? It's quite easy to disturb the vacuum take-off pipe to the servo from the inlet manifold, as I found out when I attempted to drive mine home from Cornwall a few weeks ago and nearly parked in the campsite owners kitchen, having been messing about in the engine bay while I was there. It's an easy check to make before you start suspecting the servo :)

the brakes have a vacuum assist check for air leaks.

Classic no vacuum assist

One way valve failed, or Vacuum servo pipe perished from the inlet manifold
