Here we go,
sprung a leak on the return pipe from rad to rear of bus. garage diagnosed the plastic pipe other than the ajoining hose. I see brickwerks do them for £180 but is there an alternative? has anybody tried alloy pipe successfully or do I bite the bullet (again) and fork out the money.?

I believe folks have used the blue water pipe of similar diameter.I bought the stainless ones.They will outlive the van...

Thanks for the reply rob. What is the"blue water pipe" you mention? is it soft plyable stuff or is it more rigid?
Also who supplied and what was the cost of the stainless pipes?

you can by long lengths of coolant hose from some suppliers but you must mention that it will be carrying anti-freeze, I had to do this years ago on an early diesel t25 that rotted the main pipes (the early ones were only steel ) but it did cost alot then £80 about 12 years ago

I fitted a set of the stainless ones from Brickwerks a couple of months ago Jake. Perhaps not the cheapest solution, but worth every penny and then some, and as Rob said, they'll outlive the van

Thanks for the answers guys and I suppose stainless is the way to go. The garage seems reluctant to change the short hose "in case" the bevelled end of the plastic pipe is damaged. I thnk I'll try the hose first as I'll be no worse off than I am now. If new pipes are required then I can use the hose again.
