Accelerator pedal

Hello,
Just bought my T25, and upon driving home have noticed that the accelerator pedal has an excessive amount of sideways movement (seems very loose). I've just pulled up the floor mating, and found that it's only attached to the floor panel by 1 self tapping screw which will not tighten up, yet there are two screw holes in the pedal. The thing that is puzzling me is that there is only 1 hole in the metal floor pan for a screw to go through.
Are the pedals only meant to be attached by one screw? Or should i drill a second hole in the footwell and put a second one in.
I've also found this item on justkampers - http://www.justkampers.com/shop/t25/ori ... 10819.html - would this go on the underside of the van to hold the self tapping screw in place? Mine is currently just screwed into the floor pan with nothing underneath, which probably explains why it's become loose & refuses to tighten up.
Thanks in advance,
Ben
