Bits and Pieces for Vanagon

Hi
Not sure if this should have gone in the technical area - so, appologies if it is in the wrong place.
When Pippa comes home, I am going to have to do some assessment on her bodywork. There is no visable rust, so touch wood that is all okay. However the body has a number of dings and dents.
Also, being a Vanagon it has coverings along the bottom of the body in silver - as you can see in the pics. Many of these will need to be repaired or replaced. I will also need to repair or replace the Vanagon bumpers.
So these silver panels - are these panles easy to get hold of (I have heard them called rocker panels) - can anyone recommend anywhere, likewise the bumpers, and is there any general advice people can give me about doing this work.
There are number of classic VW places in Essex I know could do the work - I just wanted to know if it was worth sourcing the panels myself. Ihave had a quick look round the interweb - could not really find anything.
