Peugeot 406 TD engine into a T25?

Hello All!

I have a bit of a crazy question. My dad's old Peugeot 406 has failed it's MOT on suspension issues so he's going to scrap it - but it has a top-notch engine (low mileage diesel, bombproof). My T25's engine needs a bit of money spending on it soon (injector's are on the blink) - and I wondered if it would be worth my while considering salvaging the 406 engine for the van!

I currently have a 1.6 TD engine (taken from a Passat several years ago, before I bought the van), but this 406 one is a 2.0 TD - does anyone have an opinion on whether this conversion is a viable option, i.e. do you think it would fit etc..?

I did see a few years ago (on ebay) a T25 that had a Peugeot diesel engine conversion but I can't recall if it was from a 406!

I know it's not for the purists - but...a free engine with low mileage, and a 2 litre....it's tempting!!

Jon

You need to make contact with phil and see if he can still supply an adapter kit.Ask billy739 he may advice you further to his reply to your post.Others disagree with this conversion but i carnt see it a problem provided a accurate and strong adapter plate is fitted and the engine mounts properly support the engine.
