I'm after fitting a 12v cigarette lighter socket in the side panel of my caravelle where the washer bottle for the rear wiper is (next to the engine) but as the battery is under the front seat and the fusebox even further away i could do with some advice on where to get the 12V supply from.
Any ideas?

Just a gastester (emissions tester) or maybe a 12v coolbox.
Will there be a 12v supply in the black box in the engine compartment?

Theres a permanent one at starter motor remember. You could I suppose piggyback from there. The thick cable goes directly to the battery. Not tried it but see no reason why say a four-way fusebox couldn't be hooked up from this point for odds and sods like that - ciggy socket, engine compartment lights etc etc. You just have to remember to undo it if starter ever needs to come off.

Yes, plain red wire depending on what engine for the manifold heater/fuel pump but it is unfused so you will need to fit an inline fuse.

Cheers.
It'll get an inline fuse no-matter where i get the 12V from. The black box looks like the easiest source at the moment.
