We're off to St Tropez soon and want to spend a couple of days in Paris en route < (that's French that is).
Will be using Aires when possible, but as some of Paris is like East side LA with onions, would like somewhere safe to stay.
Anyone got any ideas?
Nothing flash, just safe.

Hi,
There's a campsite just a shortish walk from the Champs Elysee in The Bois de Boulogne. Try this link:
http://www.paris-tourisme.com/campsite/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Not been there myself but was planning a stop on the way back this summer.

I agree, this is a great site. However, I was last there in 2005, so it may have changed since then. It is a bit more expensive than most French sites, but hey, it’s in Paris next to the Seine!
I don’t know about the short walk bit though. The Bois de Boulogne is a pretty big park. Takes your bikes and have a cycling tour of Paris. Fantastic.

Thanks chaps, we usually take the bikes but have aquired a dog recently, small enough to carry on the front but I am constantly torn between cute or twit.

Agree, camping Bois de Boulogne. Bigish site but always packed so book well in advance if its holiday time.
Shuttle bus runs from outside the camp gate to the nearest metro station.
Has a small cafe/bar on site.

Hello
i spotted this the other day but couldnt find my camp site details! I have now found it. We stayed at a site
http://www.campingparis.fr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; tel 01 43 97 43 97 boulevard des allies, 94 507 champigny-sur-marne-cedex. we only stopped for one night on the way back to UK for xmas this year....and it snowed! However, the people were very helpful, the gate man follwed us out in the morning and pointed us on the right road.....fortunately as we had stopped at a junction about half mile away and were lost! There is a train station next to the site but we werent disturbed by noise. It was on the East side of Paris about middle. It was quite empty, i guess Dec is not too busy and although fairly basic was adequate and clean and the pitches were a decent size. You can check out their web site for more info.
Hope this helps.
