Sitting on the M11 with my accelerator pedal in my hand

6 hours driving and my accelerator pedal got really stiff and then just came off - completely. I've been sat on the hard shoulder of the M11 with my pedal for the last hour, we've now been moved by truck to Brentwood services and are waiting for the repair chappy from the AA. The van just had her MOT last week in anticipation of the summer trips we've planned so this really wasn't included on our agenda

Does it sound "easily" repairable or is it likely Mr AA will be bringing us all the way back to Stockport...?

Hope everyone else is having a more successful start to the bank holiday!

there will be a fix, probably needs just the bottom edge reattaching is there some rustiness there? if not some self tapping screws may do it. keep the faith! hopefully not a holiday wrecker I hope you get a good AA man thats prepared to think outside the box and not a "where do you want to be recovered to?" type.

I'm going back to stockport
That's where I wanna be

I'm going back to stockport
That's where I wanna be

But that ole AA man
He keeps on followin me

(Sorry couldn't resist)

Pedal should be easy enough to fix.
Enjoy the summer. (if we have one)

Thanks for the songs, I'm hoping we won't be needing them now. Two "very nice" men from the AA saved the day - the first put us on a truck to get us off the motorway and then after an hour at Brentwood services, the second simply screwed the accelerator back in place ...and also fixed the starter motor, which had decided that was the appropriate time to give up the ghost. The evening was topped off by an hour's search for the campsite, making it a 12 hour journey all in all.

I passed a white TR25 about 2 miles further down the M11 on the hard shoulder (3 miles from the M25). Anyone on here i wonder?

I hope everyone else has a better start to the bank holiday :D

You 'passed' a white T25 on the hard shoulder! Didn't think to stop and offer some help
I couldn't or wouldn't just drive right by, unless it was to dangerous to stop..
Or tell me you were going the other way

I was in an AA transporter, with my van on the back....there wasn't much choice!
