when removing washer jets is it best to just force them out(break clips) or do it the long way round remove dash?also does anyone know of a s
supplier for the fittings that secure the rear steps to the tailgate on a komet think they are large rivets,any help greatly appreciated.
also behind each mounting plate on the steps there was some kind of semi hardening mastik behind each one what would that be.thanks ged.

force um out and get new ones as they seal better then!

sounds like a bodge, sure there meant to clip in through the holes!

thanks for the answer,when you say clips into the holes what exactly doe yo mean,i was thinking of using shear bolts and making up a plate for behind the panel with captive nuts,would be more substantial,dont know if autohomes were the last ones to fit the steps,how did they attach the steps?

the mastic is a non setting type, you can get it in camping shops. Comes on a roll, like that kids sweet (fruit winders) autohomes used it a lot, like on the fridge vents, ladder ect.
As for attaching the ladder, for the bottom i used nut, bolt and washer as you can get to the inside. For the top i used roofing screws, and the ladder is solid! I've got a big high lift jack bolted to it (gotta weigh 3 stone) and had both kids hanging off it, and it don't move. To be honest i didn't use the mastic, but cut up some black rubber and used that.

sorry I read ya post wrong thought you meant the cab access step not the ladder step!
