Hi Guys

How do I go about checking the brake vacuum system pipes etc on my 2ltr CU unit.
Where is the access to the servo end inside or outside? What should I be listening/looking for?

Cheers Jay

Dunno what your fault is but easy way to check is with the engine off, pump the pedal till its solid , then holding the brake on start the eninge the pedal should fall, proving the vacuum is working

Thank's for reply

Well I tried that and it did not work, pedal did not drop.
I have had a look at the vacuum hoses at the engine bay end and they look ok as far as I can tell.

What next?

I have a new master cylinder new clutch cylinder new pads and shoes I havealso changed the 2 flexy hoses to front calipers, and bled sysytem twice.

Hello,

Try it the other way,

Run engine, pressure on brake pedal.

Switch off..... The pedal should feel as though it is rising, then stop, and go back down a bit.

Pipe from inlet manifold goes through non return valve then off to the front of vehicle. Make sure all is in good order.

Cordialement,

:ok

I will check that test out, do you know what/where it connects to at the cab end?
Do I need to get underneath the bus itself or dashboard?

Many thanks Jay

I will have a look tomorrow.

Hope fully I can sort this out soon as I am not happy with the brakes at the moment.
