hi all ,
went to start the van tonight and no joy ! ,was turning over but not catching ,so went in the little black box where the glow plug relay is and found that the 50 amp strip fuse is broken in the middle ,ive seen them for sale on jk for a quid but are they available in any motorfactors as a standard fuse for loads of makes or do i need a special vw one from jk ,i basicly need one quickly and would be easier to walk into a motorfactors tomorrow rather than waiting for a jk order ,
maybe someone can help please ,
thanks

Just ask for Durite strip fuse - they are only £2.95 for 10....

I must have done 25 miles Saturday trying to buy a similar 40 amp strip fuse for my daughters cars ABS (2003 polo)......ended up soldering the fracture as a temporary repair, making sure that there was a few mill left the original thickness (so it still blows a 40 amps)
I tried GSF/Euro Car Parts/Sutton Auto Factors/large audio fitting garage and numerous motorist shops and gave up before resorting to solder surgury.
Just need to order one from VW but how stupid is that!

GSF do have them. They were the same price as ebay or cheaper. A motor factors is a better bet than overpriced motorists shops. Just make sure that you ask for Durite strip fuse and they should know to what you refer.

Well GSF Nottingham don't....I was even going to settle for a 50 amp one which Shaun thought he might have but after a 5 minute search he couldn't find any suitable.

Just my luck..
