Sent of pics and a little right up to HIC to get an agreed value. They came back with £12000. I thought it would have be a fair bit higher for very nice Westy Club Joker Syncro.
Should I accept this or is there something I can do?

I would hazard a guess that for very specialist/uncommon/rare vehicles they will have a look at OC's/forums for comparable prices!

Already have a policy with HIC so I have swapped it to the new van. Going to call them in the morning and see what they say.
Most people seem to be using Glywoods. They are a little more expensive but worth it if they are giving higher valuations.

Insurance!!
Insurers seem to be quite keen on valuing your vehicle for what you paid for it and not for what it is worth now!
The 6 obligatory pics and a quick written detail of what has been done seems to warrant a reduced valuation with regards some insurers...
Apparently market research from a 'highly specialised team' (cough) can value your vehicle within hours, well that is after they have taken your money and then gone past 14 days.
I am, of an opinion now, written, recognised, insurance valuations are the only way to go.

I was actually surprised at how fast that gave me a valuation. I emailed the pics etc yesterday and got the answer this afternoon.

Going by all of the underhand/penny pinching tactic stories you hear was worried that in future an insurer stumbles across a thread like this and only pays the owner what they paid and not what its insured for.
Make sense?
Glywoods inlcude £2k worth of contents , that swung it for me.
LLoydy give you those bits?

Best thing is to get it valued by a reputable third part, thats what I will be doing.

Glynwoods wouldn't insure me as it was my only vehicle.
