We just spent one night at "sumners fishing and camping" http://www.sumnersponds.co.uk/ to try out our new tent.
Great site, reasonable prices and child friendly.
Good walks, nice local pub/village. Would recommend.
We did have to pre-pay for one night only on a Saturday night.
Far enough away from gatwick airport (you can hear planes in the distance but slept through them ok)
:ok

Good shout.

We will be going there for the first time on Friday to Sunday. Very helpful woman I spoke to on the phone and the place looks perfect for us, Im a fisherman and the Mrs is a fair weather camper (the weather is looking promising!).

Looks really nice from their website, and managed to get a premium lakeside pitch for the saturday (just yards from where we are parked on the Friday). Will report back our findings! 8)

Another nice place around that area is Blacklands Farm Campsite http://www.blacklandsfarm.co.uk main field can get very busy, but IF the bottom field is open you can park/camp within 20 yards of the lake which is full of small carp that go like the clappers!
The site in general inc Toilets and showers are kept nice and clean and there is a pub just about within walking distance.

This will be only our second ever camping trip in our van so looking forward to it.

Cheers

Mat
