What would be a fair price for a medium mileage (130k) AAZ? Service history and well maintained. Cars had a side on until then was in VGC
cheers all

AAZ's are getting thin on the ground so if you find a good, serviced low miler and get to drive it then anything up to £400. I bought an entire car with a fabulous engine for 200 and drove it for a month before breaking it. Then again, I bought a fully serviced engine - new belt, water pump etc for 400. Heard it run but didnt drive it. Its a bit of a lottery.

I got my engine for £250 110k miles Sept 2010 then add on courier cost, think that was about £40 for a pallet from oop north to west wales. like has been said, bit of a lottery. most important is to keep up with oil changes and timing belt changes and they go on for ages :ok

I think its less of a case of whats a fair price - rather can you find a good one.

Also consider what injection pump is on it, if it comes with a turbo etc.

130K is a lot of miles - but with a FSH i'd be suprised if you can get one for cheaper than £250...

Picked up mine from a VW breakers. It was out of a MkIII Golf I think. Was 80,000 miles and £350 inc VAT. I was lucky enough to pick it up as a long block, out of the car, ready for all the bits from my last engine to be transferred over.
