power steering help needed

Im fitting a pas conversion onto the van got the rack fitted but dont know which is the pressure line connection and which is the suck line there are two connections side by side one towards the front of the van and one towards the back the rear one is larger than the front. Does anyone know or can check there van for me.

not a very clear drawing on etka but looks like the smaller connector is your return

small connector, ie front one is high pressure send from pump to rack

Thanks for the reply yes your right its the front smaller connection which is the pressure line just connected it now, nearly there with the conversion got the system bled just need to connect the rack to the steering box, The link arm on pas is shorter than manual and I think pas uses a universal joint rather than a rag joint as on the manual at the rack end ??

What sort of a job is it to fit pas Cumbria ? Something I would like to do,where did you get the parts ?

Job done now ....what a differance. The van is lowered running wide tyres and a golf gti steering wheel so pas is really noticeable. Wasnt too bad a job really made easier because I have a subaru engine in so the pump and pulleys reservoir etc were all there just had to buy and fit a rack and hoses. Bought the rack from another club member( thanks spannerack ) and had the hoses made up by a local hydraulic firm. The conversion is detailed in Lyndsey porters book converting a vw van into a camper although some of the fine detail is missing it gives you a good overview. Well worth considering.Another way of doing it is to fit an electric pump I beleive.
