Hi,

My braided 530mm long vacuum hose off the top of the DJ engine is knackered. It's wire braid is showing in several places. This provides the brake servo and diff lock vacuum yes? Is it 10, 12 or 14mm diameter? Mine is so knackered its difficult to tell. From phone conversation my local shops only sell 10mm, so if its not 10 where can I get it from?

Try Volkswagen trade part services in bristol, it`s still listed on Etka as either N 020 390 1 or N 020 290 3

Thanks chaps, just got back in from a day of chasing gremlins and fixes.
Aidan reports its 12mm bore, 3.5mm thick hose. part number N0202903
Mudlark for giving me a piece of 12mm bore hose which is for water at 5 bar, which held for the test run and makes the lockers come on quicker.
Dave for confirming the part number.
I'll put in a call to VW to see if a dealer can post me a length, as I don't fancy ordering the 5m minimum length. If that doesnt work would something like this be suitable http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/12mm-1-2-FUEL-PIP ... 3688wt_907? I noticed the hose was carrying a film of oil inside so would want to put something on which wouldn't get eaten by engine fluids.
Cheers all.

Even though ETKA says 5m lengths minimum order, in practice you can order single metres from TPS. Still ruddy dear for what it is, I bought some 3.5mm vac hose for the Sharan and it was over £8 a metre...OEM stuff has only lasted 12 years! What rubbish!

TPS in Bristol sold me a metre. Thanks chaps. Didn't know about TPS before. They even came up with a genuine coolant tank cap that VW Heritage couldn't be bothered to help me with.
