Anyone got any recommendations for where to camp and what to see?

Plus do I book the hi-top as a motorhome on the ferry?

We are also going around Lyme Regis and the Jurrassic Coast so any recommendtions for there too will be greatfully received

We went to the IoW last year and stayed at Beaper Farm near Ryde.http://www.beaperfarm.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It was a great location to tour the Island and reasonable prices. Yes book as a car and then give the height, they tell you which lane to go in at the ferry so you wont scratch the top

Beaper Farm is a good one and welcomes events etc, Tescos is just up the road too.

Loads to see but try and get to Compton Bay on the South Coast, Military Road. Black sand in places and the land is falling away so they have temp traffic lights while they think about diverting the road.

When are you coming over then?

Also a night ferry crossing is cheaper than in the day.

Nice and easy going, not overbearing on rules and regulations.
Plenty of space, you choose your pitch and everybody seems to behave themselves.
Plus a reasonable tariff and nice and friendly staff.
And reasonably new and clean wash block.

It depends on your preferences really; quiet hidey hole, big park with all the amenities or something in between (there are huge differnces in cost too).
But there are loads about that we havent been to. I'd like to try some of the smaller quieter places as the kids grow up and fly the nest but a year or two to wait yet!
Trouble is, there's no real favourite that is the answer for us. We tend to drift around.

We will be there this coming saturday for 4 nights before going on and up to Cornwall - Polzeath.

Not stayed at grange farm before but it was highly recommended and they book the ferry and obtain a good discount for you too...and seem very helpful when we rang them.

We've had 2 weeks camping at Grange farm for the last 2 years and would thoroughly recommend it. Take a sturdy windbreak though...

Thanks all. I'm liking the look of grange farm. Going to contact them for a quote including ferrry as their price pdf is a bit busy looking.

Thinking of Hook Farm nr Lyme Regis for a few days to start as it's the nearest to the town and close enough to walk to and have a good mooch without moving the van

Basically we have 8 days before we head to the Isle of Wight for 4 days so other suggestions for that area of Dorset between Lyme Regis and the New Forest would be great

Seen a campsite near Lulworth Cove too.

We stooped at hook farm this easter it is a lovely place with terraced pitches, really nice folk who run it with very good facilities.

also a cool walk down to dancing ledge

Sorry don't know any specific campsites (as we always camp on the drive at family's !) But Christchurch is nice and apart from the many beaches the New Forest is fun for a bbq and if you have kids Moors Valley (near Ringwood) is worth a visit, it's lovely there http://www.moors-valley.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If I had just 3 days to fill on the IOW which are the must sees? Coast walks, national trust, villages etc etc?
